Donor Spotlight: Dango & Dienenthal

Dango & Dienenthal specializes in designing and manufacturing advanced machinery and equipment for the melting, forging, rolling, bending, and heat treatment of semi-finished metal products—both ferrous and non-ferrous. Founded in 1865 by August Dango and Louis Dienenthal as a non-ferrous metals foundry, the company transitioned during the early 20th century into manufacturing specialized industrial machinery. A major milestone came in 1936 with the production of their first mobile forging manipulator. By 1982, Dango & Dienenthal had established a global presence, and in 2015, Hencon BV expanded the company’s scope by adding aluminum, mining, and forestry technologies.

Today, in 2025, Dango & Dienenthal operates with 85,000 square feet of production space in Siegen, Germany, and additional facilities in South Africa, the United States, India, and Mozambique. Their Siegen facility can machine workpieces up to 50 tons and is equipped with cranes capable of lifting up to 240 tons. With approximately 850 employees worldwide, the company remains a global leader in the forging equipment industry.

Dango & Dienenthal has been a valued member of the Forging Industry Association since 2007. Their ongoing support of the Forging Foundation includes contributions to FIERF’s Forge the Future Summer Camp, helping inspire and educate the next generation of forgers.

“The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible—and achieve it, generation after generation.”

“Who so neglects learning in his youth loses the past and is dead to the future.”
