Stage Gate Research
FIERF funds university and community college research that advances forging science and engages students.
The FIERF Board has implemented the use of a Stage-Gate Process to manage industry research projects over $20,000 or one year in length. Industry participation in the form of industry representatives and/or partners is required at this funding level.
All proposals must:
- Include industry-relevant deliverables aligned with the 2022 Forging Industry Technology Roadmap
- A project over $20,000 or longer than 1 year
- Follow the Grant Policies and Procedures
- Be submitted to [email protected] by February 15, 2026
