Donor Spotlight: Nucor Steel

The Forging Industry Educational & Research Foundation (FIERF) would like to recognize one of our Gold Anvil Society Donors, Nucor Steel.

Nucor Steel is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina and has over 300 locations across North America. Nucor is North America’s most diversified producer of steel and steel products with over 31,000 teammates. Their brands range from raw materials to finished steel products. Nucor is a leading North American producer of engineered bar products. Four of their bar mills have a significant focus on manufacturing SBQ and wire rod products. Their engineered bar products are produced in advanced steel facilities and endure rigorous testing to ensure they exceed industry standards for quality to meet customers’ exact specifications.

Nucor has been an active member of the Forging Industry Association since 2004 and has been contributing to the Forging Foundation for 10 years. Over that time, Nucor has funded FIERF’s educational programs and the Forging Industry Women’s Scholarship. A few FIERF scholarship recipients have even interned or currently work at a Nucor location. Nucor has also been sponsoring the Forging Foundation’s Annual Golf Outing since its inception.

Nick Shirilla, Sales Manager at Nucor Steel Memphis, says, “Supporting scholarship efforts within the Forging Industry is an investment that Nucor proudly supports. These initiatives enhance the industry's reputation and social responsibility, creating a positive impact on society and the economy as a whole.”

Thank you, Nucor Steel, for supporting the Forging Foundation and students throughout the years.
